Lead sealant

Our lead sealant – also known as multi-point – comes in boxes of 12 tubes (each containing 310ml). It’s a high quality, lead coloured silicone resin sealant that ensures a long-lasting flexible joint between the lead and the masonry or brickwork. It is both watertight and permanent. Lead sealant is often used together with our ML fixing clips.

Easy-to-apply

Our lead sealant is quicker and easier to apply than mortar. And because the colour of the sealant matches the colour of the lead, it looks good too.

And it inspires confidence. As soon as you start using it, you’ll appreciate its excellent adhesion – so it makes the work quick and easy.

Lead sealant – for easy lead flashings

Lead has long been popular as a lead flashing material. Typically flashings were held in pace with lead wedges, then sealed with mortar. Not any more…

Nowadays, the easy way to do it is to use a lead sealant joint instead of a mortar joint. It’s significantly quicker and more efficient.

Choosing the right lead sealant

With so many on the market, how do you choose the right one? We recommend you select a high-quality, low modulus neutral cure silicone like ours.

We know from experience that the cheaper, acid-based sealants (they have a tell-tale vinegar smell and feel heavier than pure silicone) can have a corrosive effect and may stain the lead sheet. In the worst cases, they can even lead to premature product failure.
