Midland Lead Launches New Customer Focussed Logistics Partnership
Here at Midland Lead, we are proud to announce a new partnership with logistics specialists Walkers Transport Ltd to contribute to our commitment of providing exemplary customer service, efficiency, and sustainability.
For many years we have consistently upheld a commitment to providing customers with excellent service alongside high quality products. This dedication has played a pivotal role in our growth since 1984, establishing a loyal customer base throughout the UK and Ireland.
Founded in 1979, Walkers Transport, part of the Palletways network, employs more than 300 staff and has developed an advanced portal that provides customers with complete visibility of their consignment starting from the moment it is raised on the portal. Their unique delivery system utilises innovative technology, expert planning, experienced professional drivers, and a dedicated sales team for a seamless experience.
With end-to-end tracking, the recipient can see the progress of their delivery from the moment it has been collected. When an order is placed the customer will receive a consignment reference and unique portal link where they can track their order and acquire a 2-hour ETA for their delivery. The Walkers Insight software also features live consignment delivery updates, a transit time checker and proof of delivery to improve business efficiencies.

The sophisticated IT system also highlights the sustainable measures that are in place as part of a pledge towards investing in a greener future, leading the way within the transport sector. Walkers teamed up with Ecologi, an organisation dedicated to reforestation, and have taken bold steps to offset their own carbon emissions and those generated by their customers’ transport usage. Through tree planting initiatives and renewable energy projects, Walkers actively work to ease the negative environmental impact of the transport sector.
