Thanks to our latest video focussing on the construction industry, whether you’re a builder’s merchant, roofing contractor, buying group, architect or specifier, you can now take a look at how the lead we produce is used in this specialist area.

We made the video to not only demonstrate lead’s many uses across the building industry, but to highlight some interesting facts about Midland Lead. These include that we’ve manufactured over 600,000 tonnes of premium lead sheet and lead products over the past 30 years, and how we’re the only UK lead supplier to offer the entire range of lead products, including machine cast, rolled and sandcast lead.

The video also highlights the various thickness codes and lengths we offer, alongside our wide range of ancillary products, designed to help you get the very best out of our lead sheet.

Being committed to sustainability, we go on to draw attention to our green credentials. As well working work hard to support emissions reductions within our supply chain, our product is also made from 100% recycled lead, which is recovered from lead pipes, cable sheeting, lead shot from shooting ranges and lead sheet from demolition projects. Recycling lead in this way, as opposed to reprocessing and refining lead batteries, allows us to streamline the manufacturing process as the lead is immediately ready to be formed into sheets. 95% of lead in the UK is recycled and can be re-cast over and over again. As such, it can be considered an extremely sustainable and long-term solution.

Finally, towards the end of our video we highlight our accreditations and guarantees. Our high quality machine cast lead has a BBA 86/1764 accreditation, is certified by the European Construction Products Regulation and carries a 60-year warranty.
