Product focus: Lead doors – where function meets form
Lead-lined doors are essential in protecting patients and staff from the harmful effects of ionising radiation. Whilst safety is our main goal, we always endeavour to not only fulfil customers functional requirements, but also supply doors which complement the environment in which they are placed. Our doors are therefore available in a number of customised finishes, can be hinged, sliding or automatic depending on your needs, as well as incorporating lead glass viewing panels. We are also offer customers the option of in-built illuminated signs which clearly indicates when facilities are in use.
The variety of finishes we offer includes:
- Wood veneer – available in American Black Walnut, Ash, Birch, Oak, Sapele and Steamed Birch
- Standard or anti-bacterial lacquer finish
- Primer painted for local finishing
- Powder coated
- Plastosol surface
- Laminate coatings
- PVC encapsulation for increased infection control
Our doors are suitable for use in a variety of environments where there is a risk of radiation exposure including PET/CT suites, x-ray rooms and linac bunkers. We work closely with Radiation Protection Advisors to ensure each door meets the exact specification required to ensure maximum protection. All doors and ancillary components meet industry protection standards including NHS Estates Health Building Note 6 and are assembled and rigorously tested at the factory before delivery to minimize fitting time and cost on site.
