Midland Lead makes delivery improvements with appointment of new logistics partner

Last month, we revealed that we’d made some big changes in our supply chain, with a £122k investment going towards new forklifts and vehicle upgrades.

Following that news, we’re now happy to announce that further changes have been made to our supply chain; at the end of March this year, we secured a transport and distribution contract with national logistics solution provider, The Premier Logistics Group.

Delivering our range of lead sheet and ancillaries to our customers across the UK, the partnership will result in huge delivery improvements.

Kirsty Woodward, national sales manager at Midland Lead, says: “After using a number of logistics companies over the years, we were looking to give additional added value to our customers while receiving competitive pricing from our provider – Premier Logistics were able to assist with both.”

The service provided by Premier Logistics and its partner network will further enhance our customer offering here at Midland Lead, which has steadily increased and diversified to meet growing customer demand.

Continuing, she outlines the main benefits customers can expect to see: “Premier Logistics is very proactive in the way it deals with possible delays or complications with deliveries. They’re providing direct contact with our customers if there is a problem, and then providing a swift solution.”

Kirsty also outlines consignment traceability as one of the top benefits: “Our entire customer base will have the option to track and trace their orders and even receive an Electronic Proof of Delivery (EPOD) within 3 seconds of the delivery being made.”

The company’s increased use of its own fleet resource also dramatically reduces the damages and loss of traceability that historically arise from the sole use of Pallet Networks.
