Midland Lead joins the LCA Members 25 Year Guarantee Scheme
A new promise of 25 years of reliability for Midland Lead products
When roofers or architects specify machine cast lead, they’re seeking a quality, reliable solution that lasts the test of time. If any roofing material fails, it can be an expensive and time-consuming fix, requiring not only replacement material, labour, scaffolding, but also the inconvenience of downtime and repair.
At Midland Lead we know lead sheet is one of the most hard wearing, resilient materials used in construction. When correctly installed and treated, lead can last for centuries.
Now we’re delighted to provide an extra reassurance of this quality. From 1st August 2025, our machine cast lead is included in the Lead Contractors Association Members 25 Year Insurance Scheme. It’s the first time machine cast lead has been included in the scheme.
About the LCA
The Lead Contractors Association (LCA) was founded in 1984, setting high standards across the specialist leadwork sector in the UK. It comprises of vetted lead contractors who adhere to BS‑6915 and the recommendations of the LCA authorised Guides. The LCA Guarantee Scheme was launched in August 1999, where LCA members made a public, long-term commitment to their clients on quality standards. Under this guarantee, an LCA member is required to offer a 25 year guarantee of workmanship and material for leadwork projects.
The ‘first of its kind’ guarantee
At launch, the scheme was a pioneering guarantee in the construction industry -25 years of guaranteed quality. Even today, it remains the first and only construction-industry initiative in the UK to offer such long-term assurance on specialist leadwork.
The guarantee certificate is transferable, adding to the value of the property if ownership changes hands. With LCA membership contingent on regular vetting and compliance, the guarantee signals clients are working with expert specialists.

What this means for Midland Lead
From the 1st of August 2025, new installations by eligible LCA Members using machine cast lead produced by Midland Lead can be included in the scheme, provided they have been registered on the scheme prior to installation and complies with LCA standards/vetting.
It’s great news for our machine cast lead, which has been used far and wide on numerous construction and heritage projects, from Cardiff Castle to Hampton Court Palace in London.
