Welcome opportunity to present at BMF Roofing & Insulation Forum
Midland Lead’s Regional Sales Manager Kyle Hazeldine recently delivered a presentation to attendees of the BMF Roofing & Insulation Forum.
The BMF Roofing & Insulation Forum webinar, attended by members from all over the UK, focussed on the manufacturing lifecycle of lead. There was also the opportunity for people to ask questions and find out how lead is handled and processed ready for installation.
Kyle is known for flying the flag for lead’s unique qualities within the construction sector and he used this platform to present a ‘behind the scenes’ insight into the manufacturing process, from scrap to lead sheet.
One of the key areas that he covered was the fact that lead is the most sustainable and reliable roofing product available. He championed the fact that lead products are 100% recycled and this was received with great appreciation in an industry that is focussing more on sustainability than ever before.
As part of the session Kyle presented a video showing lead sheets circular economy and it demonstrates why it is one of the few products that operate in a true closed loop with virtually no waste. High recycling rates, along with the fact that lead-based products are manufactured from used material, lowers the overall environmental impact of this versatile product.

The feedback from the attendees was really positive and one member said; “I thought that Kyle’s presentation was very enlightening and informative”. This was the first time Kyle had presented in front of peers and customers and he embraced the opportunity; “I have been working within this industry for six years and I am very passionate about lead sheet and the construction sector as a whole.
“This presentation was a great way of demonstrating our daily operations as a lead manufacturer and highlight lead as a roofing product that has many qualities including its green credentials and sustainability benefits. Our customers, including builders merchants, architects and roofers, are safe in the knowledge that we are helping them to provide materials to customers who are making the conscious decision to use sustainable products in their projects.”
