We are excited to announce that we have been shortlisted for the 2022 Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management.
The winners will be announced on 18th May, at a prestigious ceremony on London that recognise companies that are innovative in their approach to the recycling and waste industry.
Midland Lead is the only lead manufacturer to achieve the BRE Global Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for our cast sheet lead, and we are committed to sustainable manufacturing, logistics and supply of lead products in the UK and overseas.
It is well documented that lead is the most recycled common metal in the world and can be recycled indefinitely without any reduction in quality, and Midland Lead only use 100% recycled lead to produce our lead sheet.
Committed to improving environmental performance and integrating technology, we are working with environmental experts to use Best Available Techniques to further reduce our carbon footprint. We also work with customers to ensure lead waste created during our processes is put to good use, in many sectors outside of construction and healthcare. For example, lead fillings from our saw operation process are sold on for boat and car ballast and lead off-cuts from our cutting lines have been used to cast into new fishing weights.
We are passionate about encouraging change in the perception of lead and to share our learning to improve our sectors environmental impact. Committed to the CO2nstructZero campaign, last year we attended a Parliamentary Reception to showcase our plans that ensure sustainable practices are maintained and constantly monitored.
