Arab Health Show 2017
At the end of January, a team from our UK base ventured to the Arab Health show in Dubai. We’ve been involved in several prestigious hospital builds in the Middle East, so it was a great opportunity to catch up with existing clients and make new contacts in the region.
The Arab Health Exhibition and Congress is one of the region’s biggest healthcare shows. This year’s exhibition, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 25-28th January, showcased more than 4000 healthcare companies from around the globe. We were in great company with organisations such as Toshiba Medical, Siemens Healthcare, Philips and G.E. attending the event.
It proved to be a busy and informative 4 days. We were able to catch-up face-to-face with our existing clients, who after a year of relatively slow growth are expecting an up-turn in building across the region, particularly in Egypt, Sudan, Oman and Saudi Arabia. We also made valuable contacts for China, where there are 1000 hospitals a year currently being built.
Our attendance at the Arab Health is part of our strategy to grow our awareness and sales within specific export markets. The Middle East is a key market for Midland Lead and we have already supplied our products to a number of large hospital developments including; Sidra Medical and Research Center, Qatar; Khalifa Speciality Hospital, UAE; Al Wakra Hospital, Qatar and the Al Khoula in Oman.
As well as catching up with existing clients, the show proved highly useful in meeting new prospects. We received great positive feedback regarding our product range and particularly our new range of lead bricks.
Kirsty Woodward, Sales Manager for Midland Lead commented: “The show provided us with a great mix of existing customers who we could update face-to-face about our new products, as well as new prospects and organisations with whom we can start to nurture a relationship. In-fact we are already reaping the rewards as we’ve received a number of new enquiries since returning from the show”.
