12 Days of Christmas Community Giving

This festive season our team here at Midland Lead will be making a difference to 12 local charities by donating gifts and money for their Christmas campaigns.

It’s incredible what charities achieve throughout the year and their work is so important and touches many lives, we are so proud of the endless hours they dedicate to others. We wish every single person who rely on these small charities warm wishes this Christmas. The team here at Midland Lead would also like to extend our heartfelt thank you to all those who volunteer and dedicate their time to these charities.

Here is a roundup of the amazing charities that we will be helping over 12 days in December to support the valuable and tireless work at Christmas and throughout the year.

Day One

1 donation for 1-2-1 intensive support at Safe & Sound. Safe and Sound support children, young people and families affected by all forms of exploitation, largely sexual and criminal exploitation, but including arranged marriage, trafficking, gangs and county lines. Their vital work ensures that individuals receive the support they need to move forwards in their lives. For details click here

Day Two

We will be giving 2 donations of money to Derbyshire Mind . Derbyshire Mind is an independent mental health charity that provide a range of advocacy and community mental wellbeing services designed to support people with mental health problems in Derby and Derbyshire.

Day Three

3 reverse advent calendars for DF4TA . Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance was initially created to respond to the immediate needs of people in Derby at the start of the Covid pandemic in March 2020. It has now progressed to being a longer-term solution supporting the root causes of deprivation and poverty.

Day Four

We will be donating Christmas selection boxes to 4 girls’ football teams at Gresley Rovers. After a successful season this will be a little treat for all that the teams have achieved this year – go Gresley Rovers!

Day Five

Christmas Jumper Day is Save the Children’s annual event which raises money for the children who need it most.

Every December, millions of people across the United Kingdom take part, and here at Midland Lead the team will be wearing their best Christmas jumper and donating to help give children the magical future they deserve.

Christmas Jumper Day has raised over £35 million for children in the UK and around the world since it began in 2012!

Day Six

Midland Lead will donate 6 bags of food for Burton Hope.

Burton HOPE was founded in August 2017 to support local people that need help and support. This small charity is staffed by local unpaid volunteers and 100% funded by donations from the local community.

Day Seven

We will offer 7 art therapy sessions for young people that will be held at Safe & Sound to help promote good health and wellbeing.

Day Eight

8 Derventio festive treat boxes will be donated to Derventio Festive Treat Box | Colleague Box.

Imagine facing Christmas alone, then having to cook Christmas dinner for one and eating it alone. This is the reality for the people that Derventio support. This year they aim to provide 250 of these delicious festive treat boxes to residents this Christmas instead and we are proud to support them.

Day Nine

We will donate 9 Christmas gifts for Derek’s Tree in Burton on Trent. Each year this small charity collects presents for disadvantaged young people and children in the local community in and around Burton upon Trent.

Day Ten

Midland Lead will donate 10 Secret Santa gifts for children registered at Revive Crowdfunder: Secret Santa – Revive Healthy Living Centre

Revive aims to keep the magic of Christmas alive for some of the most under-privileged and vulnerable children in North Derby.

Day Eleven

We will gift 11 Hope Boxes for children supported by Safe & Sound. These specially designed boxes give children and young people a gift packed full of motivation and encouragement.

Day Twelve

12 Support Boxes will be donated to young people at YMCA Derbyshire YMCA Derbyshire | Changing Lives in Derby and Derbyshire. YMCA Derbyshire is an independent Christian charity committed to helping young people, regardless of gender, race, ability or faith. Providing shelter, support, education and advice for people at a time of need.
