Midland Lead has been awarded a number of certificates reflecting our constant commitment to the quality of our lead products and the responsible way in which they are manufactured. We are very proud to say we are one of only three companies in the 'Base Metals Manufacturing Sector' registered by the British Standard Institution (BSI) that hold certificates for BS EN ISO 14001 (environment) and BS OHSAS 18001 (health and safety). In addition, the company has close contacts with a number of professional trade bodies to best serve its customers.
From Midland Lead's start in 1983, the lead sheet manufactured onsite has been certified by the
British Board of Agrément (BBA) - the UK's major approval body for new construction products and installers. Our Agrément Certificate is recognised by both specifiers and other industry decision-makers as proof that our lead products have been rigorously and impartially assessed, comply with UK Building Regulations and will last for a defined period.
Besides our commitment to work according to government requirements and regulations to protect the
environment, Midland Lead has taken a pro-active approach to further improve its green performance. Since 2006, we are one of the few UK lead sheet producers with an ISO 14001:2004 certificate for the entire manufacturing process. In short, this certificate means that an external certification authority - in our case the
British Standards Institution (BSI) - has confirmed that we've successfully implemented, maintain and continue to comply with the requirements of the standard and our
environmental policy.
At Midland Lead we have always been committed to providing a
safe and healthy environment for all our employees and other people visiting our site. Especially since we're operating in a challenging production environment, we feel it's our duty to minimise risk and prevent injury and incidents. So we are very pleased to be one of the first companies in the UK to successfully implement a BS OHSAS 18001-compliant system. This new British standard for occupational health and safety management systems ensures that we consistently identify and control health and safety risks, reduce the potential for accidents, comply with relevant legislation and further improve our overall performance.
In addition, this health and safety management system, together with our environmental management system, demonstrates that Midland Lead can provide a reliable service without excessive downtime caused by work-related accidents or incidents.
Midland Lead has been a member of a number of professional trade organisations and other related bodies for most of its existence. We have always believed that membership to the groups listed below has been highly beneficial.
