Much like many of the roofing merchants working with Midland Lead, South Yorkshire’s DMR Roofing Centre has stocked Midland Lead’s products since it was established, which was approximately ten years ago.

Manager Ben Ellison has been with the company for four and a half years and says the initial decision to stock Midland Lead’s lead sheet was down to one of DMR’s main directors, Mark Hague.

Mark worked for several of the large national roofing merchants before starting DMR Roofing Centre in 2006. His business philosophy is to provide a comprehensive range of quality products at a highly competitive price delivered with the very best in customer service.

“Mark has over twenty-five years’ experience in the roofing merchant field,” says Ben, “and he had previous experience working with Midland Lead while working at Yorkshire-based R.A. Sidebottom roofing contractors. So, when setting up this business, he was happy to go straight to Midland Lead.”

Carrying a huge stock of roofing materials, including specialist roof coatings and solutions, DMR took the decision to stock Midland Lead’s machine cast lead over rolled, along with lead ancillaries including multi-roll, fixing clips, dome sets, multi slates and patination oil.

Ben explains why, ten years on, the company is still stocking only machine cast lead: “We stock machine cast lead, in a range of different widths and codes, as it’s simply more popular with customers – that’s what they request, so that’s what we sell.”

As well as stocking a product requested by customers, Ben comments on other benefits found working with Midland Lead: “We value consistency at DMR. We don’t like to chop and change with our suppliers, we like consistently high-quality materials at a good price, which is what we get from Midland Lead.

“Also, if we do not have the lead width or code a customer requires in stock, we can obtain it very quickly from Midland Lead as a preferred supplier.”
