“Over a period of 20 years representing Midland Lead, the comments I’ve heard most regularly from my customers are an appreciation of regular calling, of advice when requested, and of product knowledge and experience in the market which can sometimes enhance their own sales strategies. My customers are also pleased with the continuity in staff at Midland Lead. They like to deal with the same people”
Paul Farmer area sales manager North West, Midland Lead
At Midland Lead our commitment to quality is one of the keys to our success,
whether that’s the quality of our products, our manufacturing process or the
quality of our people. Over the years we’ve invested time and money in
getting the right people to join us and in helping them to further develop
their skills whilst working at Midland Lead. Our workforce consists of
around 50 employees, some hold a unique position - from steel fabricator and
compliance officer to technical co-ordinator and business development
manager - others have jobs such as:
Area sales manager
Midland Lead employs a representative force of 5 area sales managers,
clocking up thousands of miles a year crisscrossing the UK. An average day
of an area sales manager will include visiting UK builders’ merchants and
groups to provide face-to-face service when they require help or advice with
any aspect of their selling of lead and to quickly deal with problems if
they occur, however small those may be.
Sales administrator
In addition to our area sales managers, we have a six-strong sales team
onsite. Our sales office staff may take up to 100 orders a day in busy
periods either by fax, email or phone. Besides further clarifying these
orders and liaising between customers and our production department, our
onsite sales team deals with delivery and account queries.
Production operative In the operations department of our company we employ about 30 production
operatives, working in three different areas: the kettles, casting machine
and cutting shop. Being part of a team, duties vary from machine operation
and forklift driving to quality control and health & safety.
